When creating a real estate marketing video, you aren’t just selling the featured home. You are creating a valuable piece of content that showcases the services and quality that you offer. It is a great piece of branding material. Beyond that, video is important for SEO. It helps your website rank higher and appear more trustworthy in algorithms. It also is high-impact. According to Focal.Agent, 84% of people say they’ve been convinced to buy something because of a video, and in 2019, 88% of video marketers reported that video gave them a positive ROI. 

The benefits of video marketing are that it creates high-quality promotional content that puts both the home you are trying to sell and your business in a positive spotlight. But creating video marketing isn’t as easy as grabbing your iPhone and walking through the house. There should be a plan in place if you want to do your best work. Below are some tips to help you create the best real estate marketing video possible.

Sell the Unique Aspects of the Home

Every home is different. The differences between homes are what makes them intriguing, what makes people want to change homes. If you are creating a video of a home with a house tour style, the best thing you can do is focus on what sets that home apart. If you think the best thing is the location, show that! Highlight the restaurants, parks, and attractions nearby.

Show the different parts of the house that you think are the primary selling points as much as possible to drive home key messages.

Make sure your logo (if you have one) is in the video at the bare minimum. To take things further, you should do a voiceover explaining the key attributes of the house that make it worthwhile. You can even be in the video, leading the house tour. Just make sure that you are a significant component of the video because that will help you see the most benefit.

Short-form Content Plays Better on Socials

One of the best things that can happen with real estate video content is finding a large audience on social media. The more people who see your content, the better it is for your brand, and the more likely it is that the home you are selling will find an interested audience. 

Video plays very well on social media. According to the same report by Focal.Agent, people are twice as likely to share a video over any other type of content on social media. But keeping your video short is the best practice. First of all, that makes it so you can share it on social platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, which have video length limits. According to HubSpot, video that performs best on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook is a minute or less. Try and stick to this length if possible. Longer videos work best on YouTube, but if you’re trying to shine on a social platform, shorter is sweeter. 

Drone Photography is the Best Way to Showcase a Home

Many agents use video for their marketing. It is a commonly recognized, effective way to reach new audiences. However, if you want to stand out, try drone photography. This is a newer, cutting edge way to real estate market. Drone photography allows you to show larger, exterior shots of a home. It allows you to showcase whole neighborhoods. 

This is something that agents with high marketing budgets should consider.
