We love video marketing.
Video marketing is important for so many reasons and is also an excellent way for people to market their business and who they are as individuals. I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve heard someone plug video marketing for your business – but here are some concrete reasons why you should be considering this in your business objectives.
Why video?
The big question…why should I use video marketing?
People react differently to audio than they do to visual. There’s a huge difference between calling someone, and introducing yourself over the phone…to a video introduction online.
Audio allows people to hide. Plain and simple. You can make a phone call to a client, and not think about your posture or body language. If you send a potential lead a video, they’ll see what you’re wearing and how you carry yourself.
With that in mind, let me ask you this…if you were deciding to buy a house based on a description only…would you be confident in it, and purchase it?
Let me ask you a different question now…what if I showed you a video of the home? You’d have the opportunity to see what the home looks like, with the descriptions. Would this make the decision easier?
It’s a no-brainer. Visual components allow us to be more confident in the things we’re looking at and considering – and ultimately allowing us to be more confident in the said purchase.
So why would you consider anything else with your prospective real estate leads?
But what do I record?
This is one of the biggest questions we get when it comes to video components. Thankfully, the answer is pretty straight forward.
The most important part of sending your leads a video of yourself is that you need to be yourself. Give people a quick introduction of who you are, and what you do. Explain that you’d love to help them on their adventure of selling, and buying a new home – and would be happy to answer any questions they may have about the process. This should be a quick clip – nothing more than 15-25 seconds. You want the information to be direct, and straight forward.

When do I send video?
This is another question we get asked a lot. There are so many different opportunities for you to send your potential leads a video, so when is the right time?
The answer to this is that there isn’t a perfect time or perfect science to this. We always recommend sending leads an initial introduction video when they first request a valuation.
If you send a video in the early stages, your prospective leads will have a chance to understand who you are as an individual, and even feel more comfortable with reaching out to you.
Where do I start?
More and more people are using video marketing to promote their businesses, and that’s because more and more people are spending time on Youtube, Vimeo, and other video platforms. Consider trying to create your first few videos using Bombbomb, a video marketing tool. Bombbomb allows you to record videos and email them to prospective real estate leads.
Imagine if a lead comes in, and they’re automatically sent an introduction video of who you are. What could be better?
Another way to begin filming video would be to grab a camera and go! If you have some editing skills, or iMovie – editing is simple. Take a 30-second video, and see what you can do with it. Worst case scenario you don’t like what you’ve created and you scrap the idea. Best case? Well, best case would be that you have an awesome video to send to prospective leads.
