Maryam Mohavvelaty is one of Las Vegas’ Top Producing Real Estate Agents, and she gives a lot of credit to her ability to generate and nurture leads with StreetText.
But it wasn’t always Maryam’s plan to become an agent.
“My background was in social media and sales back home. But in 2014, when I came to the US, I decided to focus on just sales”
She had a great career in sales, and used her background in media and broadcasting to support herself and become an even better salesperson. Maryam has a passion for helping others and she always knew that Real Estate would be something that she could really thrive in. 4 years later, in 2018, Maryam’s son was born, and she decided to cut back her hours to focus on her family.
This was a turning point for her as it forced her to take a step back and look for a career that could be more flexible and give her more time with her son. That’s when she finally decided to go for her Real Estate license in 2020.
“I got my license in the beginning of 2020, but I was super lost on where to start”
We hear this from pretty much every new agent we meet. Maryam was looking for ways to kick start her new career for the first 6 months after getting licensed, she started searching the internet and watching videos for any tips she could find.
“I had a lot of good background knowledge with social media, I just couldn’t figure out what would be the best option for me to start generating leads”
From January to July of 2020, Maryam had closed 0 deals. That’s okay, she knew she was getting her systems setup and didn’t need to rush into anything.
In an effort to drum up some business, Maryam started taking free Facebook ad classes that taught you the basics of running paid ads.
“It was very confusing for me. Most of the time, my ads wouldn’t get approved, or when they did, I would spend so much money and not generate any good leads”
Naturally, Maryam started to explore other avenues of lead generation.
Her research brought up many different solutions. Pay-per-lead services, DIY services, full service ad agencies. The one thing consistent between all of them was a very high cost, and as a new agent, Maryam didn’t have the budget to support it.
“Companies would call me saying you know ‘pay us $600 a month and we’ll get you leads’ but you couldn’t even be sure that they’d be good leads”
The issue wasn’t just the leads, it was cost. Maryam knew that social media is a treasure chest full of opportunities, she just needed something to help her figure it out that was more affordable.
That’s when Maryam stumbled upon StreetText in July, and everything changed.
“I joined StreetText in July 2020, and two months later, I closed on my very first listing in my Real Estate business… and it was from a StreetText lead!”
In just under 2 years with StreetText, Maryam has already closed on 15+ deals with StreetText – generating over $120k in additional income! She’s also generated a list of over 10 Hot Buyers from her buyer ads.
“My first commission cheque was over $50,000 from a StreetText Lead, and I was very happy about that after I had just put all that time and energy into finding the right platform”
So how did she do it?
At first, Maryam wasn’t sure if StreetText was going to work for her. The initial membership fee seemed reasonable, but there was a bit of a learning curve as with all new platforms and she noticed that her guide was recommending the use of video in her follow up. That didn’t sound too promising at first.
But, she took a leap and dove right in. And she has never looked back since that first closing.

“For any newer agents out there, you need to know that this is a long term game. It’s not like a seller is going to click on your ad today and the next day you get their listing. It takes time. You have to keep working on them. You have to follow up with them.”
“Most of my sellers this year came back in December of last year, and they’re listing right now because all of them gave me the time frame. So follow up would be the main thing.”
